Write Now was built out of a love for literature, design, and the work that goes into shaping a book with care and excellence. We believe strong writing deserves thoughtful editing and presentation.
Our goal is to make self-publishing professional again. Traditional publishing has become very difficult to access, while much of self-publishing has focused on accessibility and quantity over quality. We want writers to be able to produce books that meet the standards of traditionally published work without giving up ownership.
No AI tools will touch your manuscript, cover, or interior files. We believe literature should remain human, and that editing and design require attention, interpretation, and artistic judgment that cannot be automated.
Our approach is rooted in our craft, not sales or marketing. Every manuscript, edit, cover, and layout is handled by people who care deeply about writing and books as finished objects. We are an editing and design firm, not a publisher, and we do not retain any rights to your work or your designs once contracted. We are ready to get started and look forward to working with you through every stage of the process.
MariJean Wegert is an author and editor with editing experience ranging from essays, novels and memoirs. She writes and teaches university English in Northern Indiana.
Aus Penn is the founder of Write Now and is a writer, designer and editor. Previously a creative director at a publishing company, he has helped publish 100+ books. He lives in Northern Indiana with his wife and sons.
